Job Description:
Project Engineer supporting primarily Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication efforts as well as Modification, Installation, Test and Data (MITD) efforts for the KC to WC aircraft conversion project. This Project Engineering (PE) position will secondarily support avionics efforts and logistic support efforts. This PE position will support the technical execution for the contractual efforts noted as well as possibly supporting new bid and proposal efforts associated with these projects. This Project Engineer will not only work with engineering but also manufacturing, Hangar, Dock and Line (HDL) and flightline test to complete tasks and resolve issues/problems with aircraft modifications, avionics and system testing. Lead and communicate effectively with a diverse engineering and production team, consisting of multiple engineering disciplines to develop solutions that meet contractual requirements. Work projects in all phases (requirements, design, manufacturing, integration and testing) Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to the customer and senior leadership Serve as the Technical Point of Contact with the customer on executing contractual efforts for the assigned projects Work closely with Program Office and engineering team to identify and mitigate technical risks Review and approve all technical documentation for projects Review, approve and sign off on all technical contractual deliverables to the customer. Prepare Engineering proposal briefings and support other engineering functions in the development of their bids. Review engineering bids and provide a summary review of the engineering bids to Senior Engineering management
Qualifications:
Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have in-depth knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job and knowledge of project management of area such as:
Aircraft Modification (structural and/or electrical) Aircraft Avionics Logistic Support Efforts Digital Data Products (Electronic Flight Bag, virtual tours, digital technical manuals, etc.) Aero Engineering and/or Systems Engineering Excellent people skills and experience working directly with customers and others, both external (Air Force and other subcontractors) and internal (Other Project Engineers, Systems Engineering, Aero Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Airworthiness, Manufacturing, and Hangar Dock and Line (HDL)). Experience working in a team environment as a product/functional area lead and communicating with a diverse technical team as well as manufacturing and HDL to develop solutions that meet the customer's needs and requirements and to overcome problems/issues that arise during the design, manufacturing, installation, integration and testing of these solutions. Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with and working knowledge of aircraft systems, aircraft modification and aircraft avionics. Experience with and working knowledge of digital data products (Electronic Flight Bag, digital technical manuals, etc.) and tools associated with the products. Have experience working successfully in a team environment Experience with effectively leading a diverse technical team to develop solutions that meet the customer's needs and requirements. Have experience working projects in all phases (requirements, design, manufacturing, integration and testing) Excellent people skills and experience working directly with military customers Excellent communication skills Experience with and working knowledge of preparing a proposal, reviewing bids and supporting the proposal through submission and customer technical evaluation. Position requires an Active DOD Security Clearance at the Secret level and must be able to maintain that clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. Job Profile Matching Criteria:
